Stellar Dreamtime

Our dreams are short as we seldom remember our nighttime travels. This month, Jade helps us to remember how to connect to stellar dreamtime by reminding us animal totems contain mystery and inspire self-discovery. Jade informs us that although we believe animal totems are primarily associated with the Native Americans, the basis of these great teachings originated in Egypt. The Native Americans have only protected these teachings. This is critical knowledge as our connection with our animal totem starts to unfold.

"Story Tailing" Cloe

The elusive Snow Leopard, Cloe, is a "story tailer." Animals have a rewarding method of learning that involves "speaking and listening" or sometimes thought of as the original interactive method of storytelling. Every culture has traditional knowledge that has been passed from generation to generation by the retelling of events, names and dates.

Cloe would like to share a perspective about storytelling that contains many messages on different levels. Close your eyes and relax as you feel your body blending into your environment. Think of a favorite story you have heard several times. Your first thought is probably how entertaining it is; however, as you meditate on it, you will find it to be educational. Deeper truths will be revealed as your understanding deepens. The story will serve as a guide for life. The relationship between your soul and the story will be transformative.

Cloe wants you to know by BEING who she is, she is "tailing" her story to you. You will hear her story with new ears and understand her past, present and future. You will be transformed as you realize with every choice we make, we create a different story that never has a predetermined ending. Cloe wants to hear your story. Thank her as she listens to what your heart is speaking.

WHO AM I?

I am a private cat. I love to sit high in my enclosure and watch everything going on around me. I am an expert in blending into my environment. I am a great story teller. I have "tails" that I want to share. You will have to wait until I am ready to speak as I am elusive, moving in one fluid motion and will disappear right before your eyes. Have you discovered Who I Am?

WHAT IF?

The cats ask, "WHAT IF........You were aware and remembered the ONE desired to know the "Self" and split into two so the ONE could see itself through the eyes of the "other." Remembering how ONE becomes two and two becomes ONE, are you ready to be One within yourself?

Running Bear, a Southern Bobcat, wonders what part of "Do not enter my home" you do not understand as he quickly comes to express his displeasure towards anyone trying to clean his Cat-A-Tat. In communicating, Running Bear goes beyond words and speaks his messages through his body language. He has some tips which are clearly black and white that will help you improve your nonverbal communication.

Settle into a quiet space as you relax and focus on your body. This is the first step to know how you feel about anything or anyone. Ask Running Bear to guide you as you learn to listen to the constant messages your body is sending. To begin tuning in to this subtle form of communication, take time to notice what your body is saying. Greet each feeling or sensation as a message carrying wisdom from your body. Listen to what others are communicating to you through their bodies.

Your body can also be a very reliable compass. Anyone who has ever been somewhere they don't want to be has experienced their bodies trying to move them away from that particular situation. Running Bear knows it can be easy to talk yourself into and out of choices you make with your mind, but it isn't as easy to change the truth of your heart that resides within your body. Thank Running Bear for sending you a heartfelt message that you now understand.

WHO AM I?

I am protective of my Cat-A-Tat. I don't like anyone coming to clean it. I act tough and will try to keep the cleaning tools out of my territory. I sit and watch everything going on with my companion. I groom her and make her look good. Sometimes you have to look for me because I find comfort in my den. As soon as you see the black and white tips of my tail, you will know Who I Am.

Atlas's Legacy

Several months ago, a family member of Big Cat Rescue decided his purpose in life was complete and left his physical body. Atlas, a male Bengal cat, was never happy being confined. Even though not many people knew or saw Atlas on a daily basis, he had a very important message for us.

He was a constant reminder that no animal is born destined to be in a cage. It is us, through our unconscious emotional needs, who take away their freedoms. This unconscious action of putting a wild animal in a cage is only a reflection of our spirits that we keep in bondage through our belief in separation.

Atlas's desire is for us to K(NOW) we are connected through a Divine Matrix that speaks the same language. It is a language of compassion and love. The ancients taught us our outer world is a manifestation of our inner world. How can we take away an animal's freedom by caging him or her if we, ourselves, were not prisoner's in our inner world first?

WHAT IF?

The cats ask, "WHAT IF........You were aware and remembered the chains you put around our necks to confine us also confine you. What would you do to break free of the choke chains?"

Distinctive Nikita

Nikita, a beautiful African Lioness, has her own tail of eccentricities that she has incorporated into her BEING. She celebrates her individuality daily by her willingness to let go of any inhibitions. Nikita proudly shares her offbeat traits and preferences with anyone who passes by. She does not edit her BEING and allows her imagination to take her in unexpected simple directions.

Nikita asks you what you would do if you knew for certain no one would judge your choices. To help you choose, flip over on your favorite side as you lay down to relax. Close your eyes and ask Nikita to flop over by you. As you relax, visualize your day without any judgments. Do you secretly desire to replace your traditional clothing with a changing array of hip clothes or perhaps a new career of fire spinning sends your heart pounding. Do you find yourself coloring your hair green or breaking out in some form of belly dancing?

Regardless of the nature of your suppressed peculiarities, stop and ask yourself what is stopping you from integrating them as a part of your life. As soon as you discover the answer, resolve to incorporate at least one into your daily life. Encountering people who will disapprove of your choices is inevitable, but you will give others the courage to BE who they are. Nikita gave you the courage to be who you are, didn't she?

WHO AM I?

I could be a gymnast doing flips and head rolls. I try to catch my tail as I roll and flop. I enjoy laying on my back with the sun heating my belly. I am a sweet girl. I don't know too much about my kind because I have never spent anytime with them. I like to reach out and try to touch you. I am young and very playful. I am also learning how to talk. Flip a coin and guess Who I Am.

Walking Through

A few weeks ago, Bailey was moved to a new home. She was now next to Moses and Anasazi. Their Cat-A-Tats were connected with an enclosure that would allow them to get used to each other without being together. Even though they are all Bobcats, there was no guarantee that they would get along when the doors of their individual Cat-A-Tats were opened. The three Bobcats have a simple message for us today about when a door opens, WALK THROUGH IT.

Trust the door has opened for a reason, and you have been guided to it. Doors open when the time is right for us to enter a new space. Sometimes we linger in the threshold because we are leaving an old life and entering a new one. When the door was opened for the opportunity for all three Bobcats to be together, they walked through it. As a result, they have more space and freedom to explore new things and develop additional friendships. Keep it simple and move fearlessly forward.

Conscious Celebration

Walking through the sanctuary talking with the cats today, one thing was on their minds....a celebration. I thought at first it was Easter; however, I was quickly corrected and it was about being conscious. It took a few of the cats discussing this before I got it. Let me share with you what and how they were celebrating.

By consciously celebrating NOW, the cats were shifting their energies to harmonize with spring. The energy has rested all winter and is starting to rise, bringing forth new creations of all kinds. Most of the cats are now shedding their extra hair they grew for warmth on cooler nights. We can get in sync by shedding those extra pounds we naturally put on in the winter months to keep us warmer. The colors of new blossoms found everywhere remind us it is time to put away the colors of winter including brown, grey and black and store them away in another closet as we get out the bright colors of spring. They are waking up earlier as the days are now getting longer. We have more daylight to finish our work and play.

The cats remind us when we make a conscious celebration, we usher in moments that allow us to go with the flow, not resist it. We harmonize with the rhythms of nature and the universe, and allow it to carry us forward, nurturing us as we flow.

Strength in a Small Moses

Even though Moses, a small Southern Bobcat, likes to talk, he gets to the point quickly. "Making the most of your inner strength is easy," according to Moses, "when you accept the responsibility of leading others through the rigors of an emotionally trying ordeal." Mose's inner strength was tested when he was abandoned and didn't know what his future held for him. He had no choice but to call upon his personal power for stamina, wisdom, and direction.

Moses didn't feel entirely qualified to help lead those in charge of his success in healing, but he had decided to live and give one hundred percent of himself towards that goal. Moses trusted in his ability to point his helpers in the right direction to ensure his survival. He was willing to learn and grow as he employed his inner strength. As a result, everyone involved in his recovery saw new potential, not only in Moses, but in themselves. He has blessed us by BEING inner strength in action.

WHO AM I?

My first family thought I was cute, but I quickly got sick and wouldn't eat. It wasn't the right food, and my family got scared and frustrated. I was abandoned and adopted by the sanctuary. I still trust people and am dependable. I enjoy the company of other cats. My home has recently been expanded and have room to roam. I am a tough little cat. Some would say I am a natural born survivor because I have inner strength. Can your inner vision see Who I Am?

Stellar Dreamtime

The last Friday of every month, Big Cat Rescue has a night tour. It is extremely dark at night as you walk through the sanctuary. If you look up at the sky, you can see the stars. Jade, a female African Spotted Leopard, took this opportunity to contact me and talk about animal totems. She wants to teach us the relationship between the Zodiac and animal totem teachings.

In this initial teaching, Jade is wanting us to consider why it is no accident that the Zodiac is in animal form. She shares that we can enter stellar dreamtime by learning the ways of animals through totemic magic. We cannot understand animal totems without observing their instinctual habits on Earth. As people connect with their totem animals, they will protect the animals, realizing that they are connections to their own souls. We will discover we are soulless without our animal teachers.
